چکیده

We have devized a methodology that mines sequential navigation patterns from a website's logs to enable us to identify the most signi cant associative links in the networks. Spreading activation can then be applied to the generated network of weighted hyperlinks enabling the content-dependent, semantic retrieval of nodes in the network. This approach to information retrieval avoids many of the existing problems in IR associated to synonymy and polysemy in lexically matching query approaches.

Concept drift detection in business process logs using deep learning

Process mining provides a bridge between process modeling and analysis on the one hand and data mining on the other hand. Process mining aims at discovering, monitoring, and improving real processes by extracting knowledge from event logs. However, as most business processes change over time (e.g. the effects of new legislation, seasonal effects and etc.), traditional process mining techniques ...

Discovering Latent Informaion by Spreading Activation Algorithm for Document Retrieval

Syntactic search relies on keywords contained in a query to find suitable documents. So, documents that do not contain the keywords but contain information related to the query are not retrieved. Spreading activation is an algorithm for finding latent information in a query by exploiting relations between nodes in an associative network or semantic network. However, the classical spreading acti...

Mining Associative Meanings from the Web: from word disambiguation to the global brain

A general problem in all systems to process language (parsing, translating, etc.) is ambiguity: words have many, fuzzily defined meanings, and meanings shift with the context. This may be tackled by quantifying the connotative or associative meaning, which can be represented as a matrix of mutual association strengths. With many thousands of words, there are billions of possible associations, t...

A Spreading Activation Framework for Ontology-Enhanced Adaptive Information Access within Organisations

This research investigates a unique Indexing Structure and Navigational Interface which integrates (1) ontology-driven knowledge-base (2) statistically derived indexing parameters, and (3) experts' feedback into a single Spreading Activation Framework to harness knowledge from heterogeneous knowledge assets. Within an organisation, organisational ontologies capture precise knowledge about organ...

Semantic Information Retrieval based on Wikipedia Taxonomy

Information retrieval is used to find a subset of relevant documents against a set of documents. Determining semantic similarity between two terms is a crucial problem in Web Mining for such applications as information retrieval systems and recommender systems. Semantic similarity refers to the sameness of two terms based on sameness of their meaning or their semantic contents. Recently many te...
